Who is the Hawk?

The Hawk is a light and agile air unit designed for scouting and air control. Its high speed lets it cross the map quickly, intercept Thunders and Balloons, and reveal the opponent’s moves in advance. The Hawk cannot fire at ground targets, so it needs support from a ground army in battle.

Produce Hawks for air scouting, protection against enemy aircraft, or preparation for a long game where control of the sky becomes especially important.

Hawk pros

  • The best scout among all units.
  • Can catch up with and intercept slower Thunders and Balloons.

Hawk cons

  • Weak against the Turret building and all units that attack air.
  • If you build too many Hawks, your opponent can crush you by switching to a ground army.

Hawk chevrons: what they are and how they work

Chevrons are curved stripes shown above the unit. They have three levels:

  1. +10% health and damage
  2. +20% health and damage
  3. +30% health and damage + regeneration

To earn one chevron, the Hawk must deal a certain amount of damage to enemy units.

Mass aircraft

An air army is built around many Thunders protected by Hawks. It is especially effective on large maps, where aircraft can fly around obstacles freely.

The main counters are superior Hawk numbers or a ground composition of Peacemakers, Titans, and Waves.

Air + ground

A mixed army of air and ground units. On large and medium maps, its core often consists of Lynxes, Hawks, and Thunders. On small maps, Lynxes are more often replaced with heavier units: Tanks, Waves, Titans, Devastators, and Peacemakers.

In a mirror composition, the advantage goes to the player who adds more units that counter the opponent’s specific army in time.

Takeoff and landing

Air units can land and take off again. Landing and takeoff each take 2 seconds. During the transition, the unit cannot move or carry out other commands.

LandingLanding requires a free space on the ground. Once the landing is complete, the air unit becomes a ground unit, cannot move, and has its view range halved. The Thunder and Hawk also stop attacking.
TakeoffAfter takeoff, the unit can move again and regains its full view range. The Thunder and Hawk can attack again. Take off in advance: during the two-second transition, the aircraft cannot defend itself.

Hawk view range after landing: 12 → 6.

What does the Hawk say?

Frequently asked questions about the Hawk

Who is the Hawk effective against?

The Hawk attacks only air targets: it is effective against the Thunder and Balloon, but completely useless against ground units and weak against Turrets.

Why is the Hawk the best scout?

The Hawk has a high view range of 12 and great speed. Flight lets it reveal the map quickly and escape pursuit. Its view range drops to 6 after landing.

How do you counter a large number of Hawks?

Switch to a ground army: the Hawk cannot attack ground targets, so a large number of Peacemakers, Titans and Waves, as well as Turrets, easily stop that kind of air force.

When should you build Hawks?

In a long game or for air defense, Hawks are faster than Thunders and Balloons and are designed to intercept aircraft.
