Peacemaker

The Peacemaker is the core infantry combat unit. It attacks ground and air targets and is immune to the Wave’s freeze. It is ineffective against the Lynx and the Tank in N.A.T.A.S.H.A. mode. Produced in: Barracks.

Who is the Peacemaker?

The Peacemaker is the main and most frequently used unit in the game. It works well in mixed compositions.

The Peacemaker is effective at every stage, moves well, and attacks ground and air targets. Its low cost lets you assemble large squads quickly, while upgrades keep them strong in the late game.

Peacemaker strengths

  • Can attack both ground and air targets.
  • Effective against almost every army type with proper control.
  • Has many upgrades.
  • Strong at every stage of the game.
  • The cheapest combat unit in the game.
  • Immune to the Wave's freeze.

Peacemaker weaknesses

  • The Peacemaker has the lowest health among combat units.
  • Has a relatively short attack range.
  • Weak against area attacks from the Lynx and the Tank in N.A.T.A.S.H.A. mode.
  • Relies heavily on the Shield research in the Laboratory, which adds 52 health to the Peacemaker.

Peacemaker builds

A build is the order in which you construct buildings and produce units. Below are three main early-game openings based on Peacemakers.

Build 1. Building a Barracks at the enemy base (Barracks Rush)

Note: this requires good Peacemaker micro skills.

  1. Producing two Workers at the start of the Peacemaker proxy buildProduce two Workers, but send the first one to the opponent’s base.
  2. A Worker heads to the enemy base to build a BarracksAs soon as the Worker reaches the opponent’s base, build a Barracks.
  3. A Reactor is built at home during the Peacemaker proxy attackWhen you have 10 ore, use the second Worker to build a Reactor at your base.
  4. The first Peacemaker attacks the enemy economyProduce a Peacemaker and try to damage the opponent’s economy as much as possible.

Build 2. Early Peacemaker attack (Peacemaker Rush)

  1. Producing two Workers before an early Peacemaker attackProduce two Workers. As soon as you have 12 ore, build a Barracks.
  2. A Barracks and Reactor prepare an early Peacemaker attackWhile the Barracks is under construction, save another 10 ore and use the second Worker to build a Reactor.
  3. Early Peacemakers leave the Barracks to attackOnce the Barracks is complete, produce one or two Peacemakers and send them to the opponent’s base.

Build 3. Surprise attack with a large group of Peacemakers

Note: this mostly works at low ranks, below 1800 MMR.

  1. The first Worker heads to the enemy base for a surprise attackProduce two Workers, but send the first one toward the opponent’s base.
  2. A hidden Barracks is built near the enemy baseAs soon as the Worker reaches the opponent’s base and stops in front of it, build a Barracks.
  3. A Reactor supports the production of a large Peacemaker groupMeanwhile, once you have 10 ore, build a Reactor at your base.
  4. A group of Peacemakers is ready for a surprise attackOnce the Barracks is complete, produce three to six Peacemakers and attack. Build a second Reactor if needed.

Peacemaker chevrons: what they are and how they work

Chevrons are curved stripes shown above the unit. They have three levels:

  1. +10% health and damage
  2. +20% health and damage
  3. +30% health and damage + regeneration

To earn one chevron, the Peacemaker must deal a certain amount of damage to enemy units.

Upgrades in the Barracks and Laboratory buildings

Each upgrade level adds another 10% of base health or damage to infantry. The cost rises in sequence: 10 → 20 → 30 ore.

Armor IArmor IIArmor III+10%, +20%, +30% to infantry health.
Attack IAttack IIAttack III+10%, +20%, +30% to infantry base attack.

Two Laboratory researches are also available for the Peacemaker:

OverclockEvery second Peacemaker explodes, while all survivors receive the following changes:
+1 movement speed (3 → 4).
+100% rate of fire (interval 1 → 0.5 seconds).
−20% base health before the Shield bonus.
+0.1 unit size (0.4 → 0.5).
ShieldThe Peacemaker gains 52 additional health.

The “Peace-Lynx” combo

“Peace-Lynx” is slang for an army of Peacemakers and Lynxes. This composition uses roughly two Peacemakers per Lynx.

This tactic is effective on large maps with rich ore deposits. Peacemakers need Overclock researched and applied, as well as Shield researched.

The main counter to this composition is mass Lynx production.

Peacemakers + Titans + Devastators + Waves

The tactic works very well in the early stages of the game and on small maps. Such an army keeps a balance of every unit, for example: 4 Peacemakers, 2 Devastators, 1 Titan, 1 Wave.

The main counter is an army of Peacemakers.

Peacemakers and only Peacemakers

This composition works best at lower ranks and requires good control. Be sure to research Shield in the Laboratory. At higher ranks, the tactic can work if the opponent does not expect a large number of Peacemakers and you have at least three Barracks.

The main counter is mass Lynx production backed by good control.

What does the Peacemaker say?

Peacemaker FAQ

What makes the Peacemaker strong?

It attacks both ground and air targets, stays effective at every stage of the game, is immune to the Wave's freeze and remains the cheapest combat unit in the game.

What counters the Peacemaker?

The Lynx and the Tank in N.A.T.A.S.H.A. mode: their area attacks are especially dangerous to a group of low-health Peacemakers.

What do chevrons give the Peacemaker?

Each chevron adds +10% health and damage based on the base values, and at three chevrons the unit additionally gains regeneration.

Which Laboratory upgrades does the Peacemaker need?

Shield adds 52 health and is nearly essential, while Overclock destroys every second Peacemaker but makes the survivors move faster and fire twice as often.
