Efficient Worker use for ore harvesting
A starting ore deposit usually contains four ore nodes. Eight Workers are generally enough for such a base: about 1.5 Workers per node plus two more for construction.
For second and third bases used only for mining, fewer Workers are enough: 3 Workers for 2 ore nodes, 5 for 3 nodes, and 6 for 4 nodes.
On resource-rich maps, you can build three or four Centers and strengthen the economy substantially. Maximum energy is 65, requiring four Centers and five fully upgraded Reactors.
On large deposits with six or more ore nodes, you do not need to maintain a ratio of 1.5 Workers per node: that would consume too much energy that could be spent on the army.
A target acquisition range of 12 determines how far away the Worker can automatically detect a repair or harvesting target.
